The North African country of Tunisia is a melting pot of different cultures oozing with influences from many of history's greatest civilisations including the Phoenicians and Roman Empire. With plenty of historical sites it is a great place for a fun packed holiday. Sitting on the North Coast of Africa it is blessed with some of the best coastline in the Mediterranean where gorgeous sandy beaches are lapped by the turquoise sea. Tourism is an important part of Tunisia's economy and the resorts have developed over the past twenty years or so. Port el Kantaoui is the most popular resort with tourists arriving from the UK and is served by the new airport at Enfidha with a transfer time of around 30 to 45 minutes. The purpose built resort has grown from small beginnings around the marina into a major international resort complete with numerous hotels, a selection of restaurants and shops too. Originally a suburb of the main town and resort of Sousse the resort is now a major part of tourism in Tunisia.

The beautiful beach is the main attraction in Port el Kantaoui where you will find plenty of sunbeds and water sports for the more adventurous and active. Port el Kantaoui also has two international golf courses which are ideal for keen golfers. Sousse is close by and has a further range of hotels as well as a range of shops in the ancient Medina.

Hammamet was once a small fishing village that has developed into a resort that has something for everyone. Fantastic beaches, a choice of dining out, nightlife and a local charm, it really is a thriving modern resort and great place to visit on a holiday in Tunisia. There are a good choice of hotels here, many of which have direct access to the sandy beaches. Yasmine Hammamet has been purposely developed in recent years and has become a firm favourite for tourists. The resort has everything for a fun packed holiday including Carthage Land - North Africa's first theme park. The attractive marina has cafes and restaurants and the Medina is perfect for shopping.

Skanes is the main tourist resort in the Monastir area and has one of the best stretches of beach in all of Tunisia. With an excellent range of seafront hotels, it is a perfect destination for a lazy beach based holiday. Monastir nearby offers shopping and a selection of restaurants around the Marina.
